Macadamia Bread Pudding

Bring this delicious Macadamia Bread Pudding to your next family or holiday gathering!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Stale bread, cubed (French or Italian loaf best)
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup Macadamia nuts
  • 1 cup white choc. chips
  • Caramel and fudge sauce, as desired

Butter sauce:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Butter a 9 x 13 pan.
  3. Mix together 2 c. granulated sugar, 5 beaten eggs, and 2 c. milk in a bowl; add 2 tsp vanilla.
  4. Pour over cubed bread and let sit for 10 minutes.
  5. In another bowl, mix and crumble together 1 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c (1/2 stick) butter, 1 c. chopped Macadamia nuts, and 1 c. white chocolate chips.
  6. Pour bread mixture into prepared pan.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over the top.
  8. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until set.
  9. Remove from oven.

For the butter sauce:

  1. Mix together 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, 1 beaten egg, and 2 tsp vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir together until the sugar is melted, stirring well.
  2. Pour over bread pudding.
  3. Drizzle with caramel and fudge sauce, as desired.
  4. Serve warm or room temperature.
