What do macadamia nuts have to do with The Christian Chronicle & churches of Christ?

Christian Higher Education in Africa

SINCE 1967, African Christian College has been equipping students for excellent service in God's kingdom. Students from over a dozen African nations come to Eswatini to become transformational leaders for the church in our accredited, 4-year undergraduate program.

They return to their home countries as well-prepared leaders of integrity who are planting churches, creating jobs, and expanding the Kingdom of God.

Agricultural Sustainability

SINCE 1997, we've been growing macadamia nuts on our campus to financially support students and the college. And it's working -- most of our operational expenses are earned through macadamia sales. Plus, students work their way through college without debt and gaining valuable experience.

Our macadamia sustainability project includes UKWAZI Makadamia, our Austin, Texas-based company where we freshly roast, flavor, and package macadamia products for our customers. And everything supports the mission of the college to equip students for excellent service in God's kingdom.

Students Supported by Macadamia Purchases

This incredible group of students are the lastest group of new students who joined African Christian College in May 2024. Coming from throughout Southern Africa (Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia) and East Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia), these students are earning a fully-accredited Bachelor of Theology degree . . . and they're growing as transformational leaders for the church.

Students and their families live, work, study, worship, and play on campus in a community of staff families who also live on campus. Students work in our orchards and on-campus work opportunities in exchange for their tuition and fees. All this possible through the generous support of partnering churches and individuals . . . and through the sale of macadamia nuts
